Daniel Rapaport, better known in the golf community as Dan Rapaport, is married to his girlfriend, Emma Light. Dan is mostly famous for his sports newspaper and magazine write-ups, including Sports Illustrated and Golf Digest.
The son of a former banker and housewife, Dan became acquainted with golf at a young age. On his fourth birthday, his dad Marc gifted him a golf set, and it was enough for little Dan to fall in love with the game.
Surprisingly, he never pursued a professional golf career. Dan began his writing career immediately after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Northwestern University.
After briefly staying as a Community Relations intern at the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL, Dan joined ABC News for a writing internship for about three months. For nearly two years until 2019, Rapaport worked on his skills and later worked as a Writer/ Reporter at ESPN.
However, Dan’s fame rose after he began writing for Golf Digest in 2019. He covered PGA Tours, match analyses, and stories about golf personalities, including Tiger Woods.
Recently, Rapaport and his dad Marc appeared on the Netflix series “Full Swing,” an eight-episode program about the PGA golf tour.
Dan Rapaport Wife: Emma Light Rapaport
The celebrity golf writer Dan Rapaport is married to Emma Light. According to Zola, the two exchanged their wedding vows in Chicago on June 10, 2023. But Dan has not posted anything related to the event on his Instagram.
The two lovebirds most probably began their affair in early 2020. Emma first posted their picture on her social media handle around the same time on Valentine’s Day.
After dating for a year, Dan eventually popped the question with an engagement ring to Emma during one of their vacation trips to Friday Harbor, Washington, in 2021. Later, Dan made it public on his Instagram, where they flaunted their rings.
Just like Dan, Emma is also a career-oriented person. Her LinkedIn profile shows she holds a Doctor of Law degree from Georgetown University. She has worked as a Corporate Associate at Gunderson Dettmer, a well-reputed international law firm, since 2022.
Apart from their busy professional lives, the duo spends much time traveling places and having adventures. They reside in Brooklyn, New York, with their pet dog, Bud. They do not have children yet.
Dan Rapaport’s Sister And Family
Dan Rapaport was born to his parents, Marc and Sheri Rapaport. His dad was formerly a banker, starting his career in the eighties for the Drexel Burnham Lambert.
However, after leaving his banking career, Marc became a real estate agent and worked at Thorofare Capital.
Born to a well-off family, Dan and his sisters had everything they needed while growing up and attended Brentwood School.
His older sister, Alison Rapaport, later joined The Wharton School, where she graduated with a degree in Finance and Operations.
After becoming more interested in economic affairs, Alison later joined the Harvard Business School to enhance her knowledge in the field further.
Fortunately, her expertise in the field has landed her jobs in numerous successful companies and firms. She is currently the full-time partner at Serena Ventures, the venture capital fund backed and founded by famous American tennis player Serena Williams in 2017.
Moreover, Dan has a younger sister named Robyn Rapaport. She is the founder of Robynro, a lingerie brand, and Principal at Rapaport Capital.
