Darvin Ham’s brother, DeRonnie Turner, was the one who got Darvin into the sport of basketball.

Darvin Ham Sr., an American professional former basketball player, is the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Ham was selected as a free agent by the Denver Nuggets on October 1, 1996, and later traded for Jerome Allen to the Pacers in February 1997.

Darvin played college basketball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. After that, he played in the NBA for eight seasons, from 1996 to 2005.

He played 417 games and averaged 2.7 points and 2.3 rebounds throughout eight seasons.
Not to mention, he also won an NBA championship in 2004 with the Detroit Pistons.

Darvin not only experienced international games in Spain and the Philippines but also went to the NBA Development League in 2007 and 2008.

As Curry and LeBron prepare to renew a longstanding rivalry, the Lake Show head coach recently emphasized just how special that rivalry is.

It’s arguably the best rivalry in the NBA or, as Ham has termed it, “the best rivalry of this generation,” which is why fans are willing to pay $750 on average to book their seat for the game.

Darvin Ham Brother

Darvin Ham was born on July 23, 1973, to Wilmer Jones-Ham, and Howard Ham in Saginaw, Michigan.

Ham’s mother, Wilmer Jones-Ham, is the first female mayor of Saginaw. She served in the position from 2001 to 2002.

Likewise, his father, Howard, used to work on the General Motors assembly line before joining the US Air Force.

From April 2004 to June 2013, he worked as a plant manager at ReCommunity.

Similarly, for three years and 11 months, from July 2013 to November 2016, he worked as a business manager at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.

DeRonnie has mentioned that Ham always wanted to be a great coach and also mentioned,

This is something we always talked about, even as youngsters,” he said. “This has been a blessing and an honor. It’s legendary, monumental, fabulous, and pronominal.”
