In the 2018 college football season, Haskins started in all 14 games for Ohio State.

NFL Draft
During preparation for the NFL draft, Haskins worked out with Quincy Avery, Bullis School quarterback coach. He used to train four days a week for six hours.
Haskins used to practice throwing with footwork drills and the next two hours doing lifting and agility work.
During the 2019 NFL draft Haskins was selected in the first round by Washington Redskins (Washington Commanders) as the 15th pick.
Even though, jersey number 7 was unofficially retired by Washington in honor of Joe Theismann, Haskins was granted the 7 number after his request.

Haskins made his debut for the team against New York Giants in Week 4. He threw 107 passing yards and three interceptions, but Giants defeated Washington with a score of 24-3.
Later in week 9, Haskins made his first-ever start for Washington in a 24-9 loss against Buffalo Bills.
In week 12, Haskins got his first win as a starter as Washington defeated Detroit Lions 19-16.
