Deja Kelly and her brother, Trae Nunn, are both following in their mother’s footsteps, who raised them as a single parent.

Currently, Deja plays collegiate basketball, while Trae plays high school basketball.

Both are touted high-level prospects and are poised to make their mark in professional basketball soon.

Born on September 8, 2001, Deja Kelly is an American college basketball player who plays point guard.

Her passion for basketball started at the age of five, and joined the varsity basketball team during her first year at Lady Bird Johnson High School.

During her junior season, she opted for a change and transferred to Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas.

Her performances earned her invitations to the McDonald’s All-American Game and Jordan Brand Classic, both of which unfortunately got canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Considered a five-star recruit, she committed to North Carolina, turning down offers from Texas A&M, Duke, and Minnesota.

Furthermore, she secured a spot in the first-team All-ACC selection twice in 2022 and 2023.

The 24-year-old basketball player has three siblings, one of whom is his younger brother Trae Nunn.

Trae is also an aspiring basketball player following in his sister’s footsteps.

Currently enrolled at Waxahachie High School, Trae belongs to the class of 2026. Despite his young age, he already stands tall at 6 feet and 4 inches.

He has played 33 games for the varsity basketball team, averaging 9.6 points, 2.1 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game.

Furthermore, Trae has garnered attention from the George Mason Patriots and Sam Houston State Bearkats, both extending offers to him in his sophomore year.

However, he has yet to commit to any of the colleges.

Both of her parents, Theresa Nunn and Darren Kelly, had athletic backgrounds; Theresa played basketball at Valley City State University, and Darren played basketball for Texas from 1999 to 2001 and was an All-Big 12 selection.
