Addie Latta, a 17-year-old Denham Springs High School Powerlifter, passed away on November 30, following complications from a serious car crash on November 3, 2025.

After the crash, her family saw minor signs of hope, but she suffered head trauma, and her lungs started to fail.

Addie Latta was a Denham Springs High School senior known for her strength.

She inspired her teammates as a dedicated member of the powerlifting team by setting personal records and pushing everyone to be their best.

Sadly, her life changed suddenly after a car accident on November 3. In the early days, Addie could communicate by squeezing her family’s hands, giving them moments of hope.

Despite her intense fight, the injuries were severe. After suffering head trauma, her lungs began to fail. While doctors were able to stabilize her lungs, an infection in her brain progressed too far.

She made one final act of strength at just 17, becoming an organ donor.

Addie Latta’s Parents Mourn the Tragic Loss

Addie Latta was a radiant soul, and her joyful spirit touched all who knew her.

She left this world after a valiant struggle, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unforgettable warmth.

Addie was the beloved daughter of Crystal Falgout and James Falgout. They raised her in a loving, close-knit family.

Crystal is a dedicated Barber Stylist at Fab Four Barbershop, and James worked at Louisiana Machinery. They are the proud parents and often share glimpses of their cherished family life on social media.

When tragedy struck, Crystal, who was in Boston, flew home immediately to be at her daughter’s side, a proof of the unbreakable bond they shared.

Addie’s personality was a gift to everyone around her. She was joyful, outgoing, and full of life, with a remarkable ability to make friends.

Her sense of humor was infectious, and she was always making jokes, ensuring that laughter was a constant companion in her presence.

In the face of Addie’s accident, her family was surrounded by an outpouring of support.

Her aunt, Shelby Moore, created a GoFundMe fundraiser to assist with expenses related to Addie’s recovery, a gesture that reflected the family’s deep care and community.

As most of you know, Addie Latte was in a terrible accident. In this time of crisis, I have created a GoFundMe to help with unexpected expenses and everyday life for her parents. No parent should have to go through these things, let alone worry about finances.

The Latta family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated ICU nurses on the 5th floor, whose incredible support made them feel like family during the most challenging days.

They also extend deep thanks to the entire CCMS team, who were so understanding and amazing, providing comfort and exceptional care.

While the family grieves this immeasurable loss, they find comfort knowing that Addie’s suffering has ended and that she is now at peace in a much better place.

The family is doing as well as can be expected under the circumstances, sustained by their faith, their memories, and the love that Addie so freely gave.

I love you so so much, Addie Latte. Words cannot describe how insane it feels to know that you’re not here to cheer me up with your hilarious jokes. You were so full of life, and I’m beyond grateful that I am able to say that I am your friend, and I still cannot fathom this situation.

Her memory will forever be a beacon of joy, kindness, and vibrant life.
