Born on August 31, 1999, he honed his skills while playing college football at Cincinnati, where he was awarded the prestigious title of AAC Offensive Player of the Year twice.
Due to his impressive performance during his time in college, Desmond Ridder was among the top quarterback prospects invited to the NFL Scouting Combine.
As the pre-draft evaluations came in, experts predicted that he would be selected in the first to third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Among the quarterback prospects, he was ranked fourth-best in the draft, trailing behind Malik Willis, Kenny Pickett, and Matt Corral.
In the 2022 NFL Draft, he was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round as the 74th overall pick and later made his NFL debut in Week 15 against the New Orleans Saints.
