Diego was a surprise even to his parents back in 1992. His family was not from a well-off background and their clothing and jewelry company was not functioning properly post the crisis of the 1990s.

Ricardo Sebastian, Diego Schwartzman’s father, witnessed a difficult period in his life. The Argentine worked tirelessly as a trader to pay for his family’s bills.

Regardless, he always encouraged Schwartzman to take part in sporting activities and always helped his son acquire the resources to develop his skills as a tennis player.

Silvana Schwartzman, Diego Schwartman’s mother, also had a big hand in the Argentine’s success. She not only introduced her son to tennis but also drove him to tennis practice in their locality.
