The American collegiate football player DJ Uiagalelei and his younger brother, Matayo Uiagalelei, share the same passion for football.

On national signing day in 2022, Matayo joined the Oregon Ducks, following in the footsteps of his older brother.

Apart from sharing the same stage, the Uiagalelei siblings are very close and support each other.

David John Uiagalelei was the USA Today High School offensive Player of the Year as a junior in 2018 at St. John Bosco High School.

Uiagalelei, a five-star prospect, decided to join the Clemson Tigers in May and joined them on December 18, 2019.

As a freshman, DJ started his first game for Clemson in October against the Boston College Eagles.

With much hype as a sophomore, Uiagalelei replaced Trevor Lawrence as the starting quarterback in 2021.

After earning the starting spots for two years, the quarterback transferred to the Oregon State Beavers for his senior season.

Apart from football, the DJ played baseball during high school in 2019. However, he has not played competitive baseball since high school.

Moreover, the Los Angeles Dodgers selected him with the 610th overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft.

The former Clemson quarterback, D.J. Uiagalelei, and his younger brother, Matayo Uiagalelei, have a strong enthusiasm for sports, specifically football.

On the national signing day of 2022, Matayo made an exciting decision to follow in the footsteps of his accomplished brother.

He committed to the Oregon Ducks and started down the same professional route as his older sibling.

Before that, the younger Uiagalelei had already helped ST. John Bosco claims two High School Football America and MaxPreps national championships.

He also led the Braves to two CIF Southern Section Division 1 and two CIF Open Division titles.

However, Uiagalelei initially expressed interest in Ohio State and USC, but in the final 48 hours, his choice moved to Oregon.

With his commitment, the Ducks’ recruiting class gains a highly regarded defensive prospect in addition to several other significant advantages.

Recently, the Oregon State quarterback grabbed headlines after Sports Illustrated ranked him as the No. 19 in the 2023 class.

Moreover, Matayo is also a five-star recruit as per 247Sports and is rated a four-star prospect by ESPN.
