Los Angeles Dodgers’ third-base coach Dino Ebel’s demanding MLB schedule often kept him from watching his son Brady shine on the field at Corona High School.
As a coach with a packed season, Dino’s commitments to the Dodgers frequently overlapped with Brady’s high school games.
Dino Ebel’s role with the Dodgers requires him to be at the ballpark or traveling with the team for much of the MLB season, which runs from spring training in February through the regular season and potentially into the postseason in October.
This schedule often conflicted with Brady’s high school baseball season at Corona High School, which typically spans from February to May.
For example, during the 2025 season, Brady, a senior at Corona High, shone with a .341 batting average, a .504 on-base percentage, and impressive play as both a shortstop and third baseman.
Specific instances include Corona High’s crucial matchups in the Southern Section Division 1 championship run in 2024, where Brady and his younger brother, Trey, helped lead the team to victory.
Dino was likely on the road with the Dodgers during these games, such as when Brady hit a home run in the 2022 state playoffs as a freshman at Etiwanda High School before transferring to Corona.
These are just some examples of the moments Dino has had to miss, but he’s incredibly proud of everything his son is doing and how far he’s come.
Brady Ebel’s Impressive High School Baseball Journey at Etiwanda and Corona High Schools Leads to LSU Commitment!
Brady Ebel, born in 2007, is a rising baseball star who made a name for himself during his high school career, especially at Corona High School.
Given his father Dino’s long career in professional baseball, it wasn’t surprising for Brady’s baseball journey to start early.
Brady Ebel’s high school career spanned two schools in Southern California: Etiwanda High School for his freshman and sophomore years (2022–2023) and Corona High School for his junior and senior years (2024–2025).
At Etiwanda, as a freshman in 2022, he hit an incredible .636 in limited games, showing he could hit the ball consistently.
In his sophomore year (2023), he batted .357, reached base nearly half the time with a .474 on-base percentage, and had 25 hits, 20 runs, and 15 RBIs.
He helped Etiwanda win a playoff game against Capistrano Valley (5-2) and was named Player of the Game in a 7-5 win over Los Osos on April 17, 2023.
Later, after transferring to Corona High School, Brady joined a talented team that produced three first-round MLB draft picks in 2025.
Mainly playing third base because teammate Billy Carlson was at shortstop, he hit .341 with a .504 on-base percentage in his senior year (2025), with 31 hits, 27 runs, and 17 RBIs.
He contributed to big wins, like a 5-0 shutout against Roosevelt High School, and helped Corona achieve a 15-game road winning streak.
Brady did well in top baseball events, getting three hits and five walks in just eight chances at the Area Code Games. He also hit powerful line drives, showed strong defense, and stayed calm under pressure in other big games like the Prep Baseball and Perfect Game All-American showcases.
Thanks to his impressive skills, he earned several awards. Among these achievements are First-Team All-League, League MVP, and spots on the 15U Team USA National Team, Area Code Games, and All-American teams.
Later, Brady Ebel committed to LSU on November 30, 2023, joining one of the top recruiting classes in the nation under coach Jay Johnson.
He was ranked as the No. 6 overall prospect and a top-10 shortstop in the 2025 class by Perfect Game. Brady had joined a powerhouse LSU recruiting class featuring Quentin Young (No. 2), Dean Moss (No. 4), and Jaden Fauske, with eight players ranked in the top 100.
However, in July 2025, Brady was selected at No. 32 by the Milwaukee Brewers, keeping his career at a crossroads.
Brady Ebel Selected by Milwaukee Brewers in First Round of 2025 MLB Draft!
On July 13, 2025, the Milwaukee Brewers selected Brady Ebel with the 32nd overall pick in the first round of the 2025 MLB Draft.
The selection was a compensation pick awarded after former Brewers shortstop Willy Adames declined a qualifying offer and signed with the San Francisco Giants.
Brady was picked in the first round of the MLB Draft at The Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta. He became the third player from Corona High School chosen that year, joining his teammates Seth Hernandez and Billy Carlson, who were also picked early in the draft.
So far, Brady has yet to sign with the Brewers. His decision depends on the team’s offer, which may need to exceed the slot value of approximately $2.7 million for the 32nd pick to lure him away from his LSU commitment.
Meanwhile, his career is at a crossroads. If he agrees to join the Brewers, he’ll probably start playing in their minor league teams like the Arizona Complex League or the Low-A Carolina Mudcats, which are good spots for young players to grow and gain experience.
