The Memphis point guard and his three brothers, Tre, Jadee, and Reggie, are always supported by their parents, Debbie and Rob.

Their parents were also part of the basketball court, as Debbie used to play point guard and led Devils Lake High School to the North Dakota high school championship.

Tyus followed his parent’s path and, since 2019, has been playing with Memphis Grizzlies, with players like Steven Adams.

He has won three gold medals for the United States from FIBA Americas U16 to U18 championships with the national team.

After that, Tyus got drafted in the 2015 Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers as a 24th overall pick in the first round and later was traded to Timberwolves.

On November 10, Jones made his NBA debut against the Charlotte Hornets for Timberwolves in a 104-95 loss.

During his professional playing years, Tyus won his third consecutive Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year Award and was a 2014 USA Today second-team All-USA Boys Basketball Team selection.

Tyus Jones’ Sister

Tyus has three male siblings, which indicates he grew up in a brotherhood companionship without any sister.

His three brothers are Tre Jones, Jadee Jones, and Reggie Bunch, among which, apart from Reggie, Tre and Jadee are thriving in their basketball careers.

For instance, Tre started his NBA career in the 2020 NBA Draft as a second-round 41st overall pick with the Spurs but is now playing for its G league-affiliated team, Austin Spurs.

Also, his other brother Jadee is doing well as he initially aimed to get into the NBA league like Tyus. Still, he is in the basketball arena but as a Top Flight Basketball Academy director.

According to his LinkedIn, his purpose in life is to influence young people via basketball and the education system.

Although we could not get any information regarding his third brother Reggie via sources, it indicates that he is not involved in basketball as much as his brothers.

Family Of Tyus Jones

Tyus was born on May 10, 1996, to athletic parents Debbie and Rob, both basketball players in their collegiate careers.

As per The Athletics, the journey wasn’t easy for the Jones family during their parent’s divorce and Debbie’s cancer diagnosis, although she is cancer-free now.

Apart from his parent, even her aunt Darcy Cascaes was in the sports field as she was a DeLaSalle High School’s athletic director and earned two high school state championships at Devils Lake.

His uncle, Al Nuness, was a captain for Minnesota Gophers basketball in the 1960s; the athletic line expanded more, with his cousin being the 1997 Minnesota Gatorade player of the year and runner-up Minnesota Mr. Basketball.

Tyus had expanded the bloodline as he was blessed with a son Tyus Jr. on May 5, 2020, with his long-time girlfriend Carrie Yeakey.

The couple was engaged in 2019 after a long period of dating during Tyus’ 2019-20 NBA season.

A year after his son’s birth, the couple finally rang the bells on August 7, 2021.

Tyus Jr. is just 2 years old to say anything about his career inclination nation, but hopefully, he will carry the athletic legacy, like the Jones family is doing till now.
