Domantas Sabonis has a younger sister, Aušrinė, and two elder brothers, Žygis and Tautvydas.

Domantas Sabonis is a Lithuanian-American professional basketball player for the Sacramento Kings of the NBA.

Sabonis was born in Portland, Oregon when his father was playing professional basketball for the Portland Trail Blazers.

He attended Gonzaga University and committed to play for the Gonzaga Bulldogs, declining a three-year/$630,000 deal with Unicaja, where he was playing professionally from 2012.

His NBA journey started when the Orlando Magic drafted him as the 11th overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft.

However, he was traded to the Orlando City Thunder, along with Ersan Ilyasova and Victor Oladipo, for Serge Ibaka on draft night.

Later, the power forward went on to play with other NBA teams like Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings.

Besides, he has also represented the Lithuanian national basketball team. However, Sabonis is unlikely to represent his country for the 2023 FIBA World Cup as he is still recovering from a right thumb injury.

The Kings power forward has a sister named Aušrinė Sabonis. Aušrinė was born in 1997 as the youngest child of her parents.

The youngest Sabonis sibling completed her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Westminster in 2018.

During college, she worked as a special events intern at Wasserman X for two months and as a Hostess at Pušų Paunksnėje Hotel for three months.

After graduating, Ausrine served as a restaurant manager at Pušų Hotel before joining Wasserman as a Marketing intern.

Eventually, she joined Pušų Paunksnėje Hotel as a restaurant manager in 2019 and has been working in the same position since.

As per her LinkedIn profile, she is multilingual and can speak English, Spanish, and Lithuanian fluently, with a conversational level of French.

Domantas was born as the third child to his parents, Arvydas Sabonis and Ingrida Milkelionyte.

His father, Arvydas, is a Lithuanian former professional basketball player and businessman.

Arvydas also played in the NBA after the Portland Trail Blazers picked him in the first round of the 1986 NBA draft.

Moreover, he was also inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Domantas’ mother, Ingrida, was the first Miss Lithuania in 1988.

The Lithuanian grew up with two older brothers, Žygis and Tautvydas, alongside his younger sister.

The eldest Sabonis sibling, Zygimantas “Žygis” Sabonis, completed his SHA Diploma in Hotel Management at Les Roches and his master’s degree in Marketing and Sales at ESIC Business & Marketing School.

After working for several years with different Hotel Groups, he joined Pušų Paunksnėje Hotel as sales and marketing director and now serves as a hotel director.

Similarly, Domintas’ other brother, Tautvydas, is also a former basketball player and now serves as an assistant coach at BC Zalgiris Kaunas.

On a personal note, he married Paulina in June 2017.
