Duane “Skip” Baylor, a baseball coach for Olympic Indoor Sports, passed away unexpectedly in Maryland.
He also served at the Montgomery County Police (MCPD) and, following his retirement, joined the Howard County Police (HCPD) as a dedicated Crime Analyst.

Skip was a valued member of the law enforcement community, serving at both the Montgomery County Police Department and the Howard County Police Department.
His passion for the job and his sharp, analytical mind left a lasting mark on both agencies and everyone who had the privilege of working with him.
A favorite story he loved to tell was about his interview with Tami Bulla, a Deputy Director of Policy and Planning at the Montgomery County Police Department.
Skip was surprised when Tami told him he didn’t want the job in her division because he was clearly meant to work in Crime Analysis.
Sad to learn of the loss of HCPD Alumni Duane “Skip” Baylor.
