Bouchard was born in Montreal city of Quebec, Canada. Also, she is the daughter of investment banker Michael Bouchard and Julie Leclair. 

Beatrice Bouchard is her twin sister, Charlotte is her younger sister, and William is her younger brother.

Eugenie was involved with tennis from the early age of five. At the same time, she joined the National Training Centre of Tennis Canada in Montreal.

She joined a private girls’ school, The Study, for elementary education and moved to Florida at 12 years of age.

Early Tennis

In Florida, Nick Saviano coached her. To support her tennis career, her father established a partnership named “Tennis Mania.” Several investors invested money in the partnership for one-tenth of Eugenie’s future earnings.

Bouchard defeated Elina Svitolina at the 2012 junior Wimbledon singles tournament final. The victory made her the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam in singles.

After that, Bouchard entered the Korea Open in Seoul, where she lost in two tie-break sets to seventh-seeded Tatjana Maria.
