The sudden and tragic loss of Jeffrey Campbell on 21 May, at the age of 27, has left a deep void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
He was a standout defensive tackle from Smyrna High School and had earned a spot on the Gold roster for the 61st Blue-Gold All-Star Football Game.
Then, he accepted a scholarship offer from the Hornets and eventually earned All-State and All-Henlopen Conference First Team honors in 2015.
His passing was unexpected, and the grief felt by his family and friends is immeasurable.
The fundraiser has been created to help ease the financial strain on his family during this tough time.
Family And Friends Mourn The Loss Of Jeffrey Campbell
Jeffery Campbell is survived by his parents, Debbie Steller and Jeff Campbell, as well as his sister, Christine, and grandmother, Janine Faulkner.
His father shared a heartfelt message on Facebook that Jeffery had chosen to join his sister Sheri in heaven.
He also spoke about how much everyone loved Jeffrey and how deeply he will be missed. He ended his message with a loving tribute, “Love you, Jeffrey,” and mentioned that more information would be shared later.
Delray Marcum recalled childhood memories of Jeffery chasing him around the yard and remembering Jeffery’s kind heart.
Though they hadn’t stayed in close contact over the years, Delray shared that he had always been rooting for him.
He hoped Jeffrey is now at peace alongside his sister and offered his heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the Campbell family during this tough time.

Further, Brandon Marcum shared his disbelief and sorrow over Jeffery’s passing, reflecting on their memories together at Jeffery’s grandmother’s house, playing video games, swimming, and simply enjoying each other’s company.
