Conway High School running back Kevin Chamorro tragically passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, in a car accident while he was heading home.
According to his wife, it’s believed he may have fallen asleep at the wheel, and the accident occurred instantly upon impact, sparing him from suffering.
Kevin Chamorro’s Passing Has Left His Family And The Entire Community Heartbroken!
Kevin Chamorro, affectionately known as “Chaco,” was a standout football player for Conway High School’s Wampus Cats.
Standing 5’11” and weighing 211 lbs, he played as a running back, proudly wearing jersey #44.
Known for his explosive speed and toughness, he left a lasting mark on Arkansas high school football.
One of his most legendary performances came in October 2014 against Greenwood.
During that time, he rushed for over 350 yards and scored five touchdowns, leading Conway to one of its most memorable victories.
Additionally, he was the River Valley and Ozark edition offensive player of the year.
During his standout season, Conway posted an impressive 11-1 record, going undefeated in conference play at 8-0 and securing 1st place.
Nationally, the team ranked #344, while in the state of Arkansas, they held the #4 spot.
His athleticism, determination, and leadership on the field made him a local icon and an inspiration to younger athletes.
Kevin’s sudden passing in a car accident left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the entire football community.
Friends, family, and former teammates remembered him not only as a gifted athlete but also as a loving person.
His cousin recalled their childhood wrestling matches and how Kevin’s toughness and humor never faded.
Moreover, his younger sibling shared heartbreaking memories of Kevin being a constant source of support, joy, and belief.
She further said:
It absolutely warms my heart to see how many people loved him just the same. I know he would want me to be happy and stand strong. To relish in the sweet memories and pictures that so many people have of him. A man who connected many others. A man who made sure everyone felt his love. I can’t wait for the day until I get to braid your curly hair again. I’ll forever order a #44 from Jersey Mikes just for you, just the way you like. I hope heaven is just as amazing as you thought it’d be. I don’t have any words to really express how I feel but I know that the love I have for you is infinite and all the while consuming. My brother died yesterday but a huge piece of me died with him. God gave us such a beautiful angel to watch over us. I know you’ll be taking care of Macey, Adonis & Zarah, Mami with her cancer battle, your siblings, and so many more. I love you with everything in my heart and soul. I know you’ll forever be with me when I smile and see the same dimples you had in yours. I can’t wait to see you again in Heaven. May you forever rest in peace Kev. Forever my oldest brother. I love you always. Forever 28. Thank you for everything. I will forever miss you.
A former broadcaster called him a “mythical figure” on the field and hoped Kevin’s children would one day watch his highlight reel with pride.
Macey, his beloved wife and mother of two, shared the heartbreak, writing:
…Kevin was the greatest father to our children, and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to spend the last 7 1/2 years with. Kevin was the most caring and empathetic person to everyone, and had the biggest heart. I am so proud of everything he accomplished in this life, and know that he’s sitting next to Jesus now with the utmost peace. Rest easy my love, we’ve got it from here
Above all, Kevin was celebrated as a devoted father, a loyal brother, a loving partner, and a friend who made everyone feel seen and loved.
Additionally, a GoFundMe campaign titled “Support for Kevin Chamorro’s Family” has been organized by Hillary Golden.
The fundraiser was organized to help cover funeral expenses and provide financial support for his children, Adonis and Zarah, as well as his partner, Macey, and grieving family members during this difficult time.
