Marshal Gordon, 19, of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, was killed in a tragic crash on icy Route 92 in Gibson Township, Susquehanna County, early on January 11, 2026.

His 2006 Ford F‑250 pickup truck lost control on the slick highway, slid into an embankment, and struck several trees.

The force of the collision rolled the vehicle onto its passenger side, and because Gordon was not wearing a seatbelt, he was partially ejected through the passenger window.

He passed away instantly at the scene, according to state police and the county coroner.

Tragic Loss of Former Abington Heights Football Player, Marshal Gordon

Born in Scranton on March 22, 2006, Gordon was the beloved son of Robyn J. Mishuk‑Gordon and Ian P. Gordon.

Marshal was a 2024 graduate of Abington Heights High School, where he was known for his dedication to academics and his involvement in sports.

Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 300 pounds, he played varsity football wearing jersey number 74 as a guard and defensive tackle.

During the 2023–24 football season, Marshal Gordon played in 5 games for Abington Heights, slightly below the national average of 6.

He recorded 3 solo tackles compared to the national average of 12, and 9 total tackles against the average of 20.

Averaging 1.8 tackles per game, Marshal’s contributions on the defensive line reflected his steady presence and commitment to the team.

Additionally, he was a standout in powerlifting, where he earned national rankings of 4th and 5th place.

In December 2025, he completed his studies at the School of Petroleum and Natural Gas at Lackawanna College.

Just days before his passing, Marshal was preparing to begin his career with Smith Industrial Solutions Inc. as a natural gas operator at the Lackawanna Energy Center in Jessup.

Beyond this, he loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and most importantly, spending countless hours helping his grandfather, Paul, at the family tire shop in Moosic.

His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the entire Abington Heights community.

His friends and well‑wishers who knew him offered heartfelt tributes. Among the many tributes shared, one person recalled meeting Marshal only once at the Bluebird Diner while waiting for him and her son, further saying:

Sweet boy. Only met him once at the bluebird diner with my son when i waited on them . I do know he was a genuine good friend to Noah Ross and that makes my mom heart grateful

Likewise, another person shared:

Rest in peace Marshal; although I haven’t seen you in years I will never forget that amazing smile and laugh…my sincere condolences to your parents and Max; such a heartbreaking tragic loss
