A former Cardinals linebacker and a UL’s 2016 recruiting class member, P.J. Blue, passed away on Monday.
P.J. Blue started his high school career at Class 5A Jemison High School before transferring to Class 6A Park Crossing.
As a senior, he recorded 67 tackles, six pass deflections, and two interceptions, helping lead his team to an 8-3 record.
Blue faced a significant setback in 2017 when he tore his ACL during spring practice, which forced him to miss the entire season.
Despite the injury, he bounced back in 2018 and became a key contributor to Louisville’s defense. His first start came on the road at Virginia, where he posted a career-high six tackles and one for loss.
He topped that performance with a personal-best eight tackles in his second career start against Florida State.
