Wow, we were new to Texas and didn’t really fit in with the culture, but Coach Dixon made us feel like he had known us forever. He was the same kind and gentle man every time we saw him, even after we had graduated and grown up. We admired and respected him, he never made us feel like we were outsider. He was proud of us when we graduated high school and we believed that what he said to us was genuine and from the heart. Rest well Coach Dixon you had a great impact on so many young lives.

Moreover, Malissa Johnson wrote,
The world’s best neighbor. The one who loved us as his own grandkids. The man who’s loved it when I called him “Mr Coach Dixon” who was there everytime we sold something or just wanted him to come over. Or I wanted to show him my new bike and things I learned or just to watch me on the trampoline. The one who helped teach me how to ride a bike. Let us ding dong ditch him
