Josh’s Influence Was Significant, Shown By The Love He Received From Friends And Family
Ryan Livingston, a close friend, shared a moving tribute:
“Dear Josh Benedict,
Via Facebook
What an incredible inspiration you were to myself, my family, and anyone who had the pleasure of getting to know you. You are the very definition of a giver. You made it so easy for anyone to love you and care for you because it was only a reflection of how you treated the world around you. From trusting you with my life while chasing elk through 3 feet of snow in the remote Rocky Mountains to watching epic UFC fights in Salt Lake City on my birthday to watching you teach my daughter how to ice skate on a frozen pond, the memories of you will always live on, and the lessons I’ve learned by simply being in your presence will continue bettering the lives of many. Love you, brother. Until we meet again 😇”
Another friend, Mark Barnett, reflected on Josh’s unique ability to connect and uplift:
“Today, I say goodbye to one of the most unique and selfless persons I’ve ever known. I met Josh in 2019 during a trip to Boston. From the moment we met, I could see that he wasn’t like anyone I’d ever met before. Josh had this rare gift. He could see things that most people wouldn’t notice, and he knew exactly how to use those insights to help others. He taught me how to take better pictures with my iPhone, but more importantly, he showed me how to see the world more clearly… Josh’s kindness was endless. He showed up when it mattered most—like when he rode his bike to Boardwalk Park to see my daughter, Cora, perform her gymnastics routine. She was nervous, and Josh took one knee in front of her, offering words of encouragement that gave her the courage to join the rest of the cheerleaders. That was Josh—always lifting others up.”
