Pacman Jones’ father, Adam Jones, was killed in a robbery in 1991 at the age of 26.
Former NFL cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was arrested on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the Greater Cincinnati area for public intoxication and allegedly assaulting an officer.
Later, he was released after posting a $10,000 bond.

He also served 18 days in jail in 2021 after pleading no contest to two misdemeanor assault charges stemming from a bar altercation in Cincinnati.
Moreover, Jones was arrested at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in September 2023 for alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, and terroristic threatening after turning into a nuisance on a flight.
Pacman has been arrested 11 times since 2005.
Adam “Pacman” Jones Had A Tough Childhood After He Lost His Father, Adam Jones
American former football cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones, 41, was born on September 30, 1983, in Atlanta, Georgia, to his father, Adam Jones, and his mother, Deborah Jones.
When Pacman was 10, he faced tragedy because his father, Adam, was tragically shot and killed in a robbery in 1991 at the age of 26. The incident happened in front of their apartment at Bankhead, Boat Rock.
During one of the interviews, Pacman said that he heard the shots fired outside of their apartment. He said,
“I didn’t actually get to see when he got shot, but I did get to see him lying down, I seen when they taped off everything. And growing up I carried a lot of that anger with me, as a youth growing up,”

Following Adam’s death, Pacman’s grandmother, Christine, helped Deborah raise Pacman in crime-ridden Atlanta housing projects.
However, Deborah was often locked up, forcing Christine to carry much of the load.

When Christine died of cancer during Adam’s junior year at West Virginia, Deborah said her son lost his desire to finish school and became dead set on “getting a taste” of the NFL as quickly as possible.
Deborah gave Adam the nickname “Pacman” because of his fast, agile movements on the field, which were reminiscent of the video game character Pac-Man.
His nickname was often used more than his given name, to the point where it was represented by a “P” on the back of his Titans jersey.
Earlier on December 27, 2013, Adam took to his official Twitter handle and wished his mother a 50th birthday. He wrote,
Today my mother will be 50 !!! Happy birthday mama” Deborah Jones”
