The Giddings, Texas, community is mourning the untimely death of beloved native, former athlete, and dedicated paramedic Grace Zwernemann.
Grace Zwernemann passed away earlier this week, however her family hasn’t yet disclosed details surrounding her untimely death. She was in her mid 20s.
Zwernemann was a cherished member of the Giddings, Texas, sports community and touched the lives of many with her kind-hearted nature.
Grace Zwernemann, a proud 2016 graduate of Giddings High School, was an exceptional athlete who excelled in both soccer and volleyball.
Standing 6’0″ and weighing 145 lbs, she combined talent, dedication, and leadership, leaving a lasting impact on her school and community.
Grace played as a goalkeeper for the Giddings Varsity Soccer team, wearing jersey #99.
During her senior season in 2015, she helped lead the team to a 23-0-1 overall record, including a 10-0 district record, earning first place in the district, and achieving a national ranking of #543 and a state ranking of #94.
In volleyball, Grace was equally impressive. In her senior year of 2015, she played as a right-side hitter wearing jersey #7, contributing to a 28-16 overall record, a 7-3 district record, finishing 3rd in the district, and earning a national ranking of #1862 and a state ranking of #209.
During her junior year in 2014, she played as an outside hitter, also wearing jersey #7, achieving a 17-18 overall record, a 1-6 district record, finishing 4th in the district, and earning a national ranking of #4032 and a state ranking of #408.
Late Grace Zwernemann Was Serving as a Paramedic at CHI St. Joseph Health EMS
After graduating from Giddings High School, Grace Zwernemann continued her academics, attending Texas A&M University, from which she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Services/Allied Health in 2019.
Although Grace didn’t pursue her career in sports professionally, she continued to touch the lives of many as a remarkable paramedic.
Grace Zwernemann dedicated herself to serving others as a paramedic with CHI St. Joseph Health EMS briginning warmth, humor, and support to people in need.
Furthermore, CHI St. Joseph Health EMS took to its official social media to express sorrow and pay tribute to its beloved member.

Grace Zwernemann is survived by her parents, Michael and Karen Zwernemann, siblings, and the entire family. Her family will soon provide details about his funeral and memorial service.
Grace’s contribution to the Giddings community as an amazing athlete and a great paramedic will always be remembered.
