Like his father, Kiyan has also pursued a basketball career. Moreover, he has ventured into business with his clothing line, One Way. Anthony Jr. updated fans about his new merch drop via Instagram.

Besides that, Carmelo’s recent discussion about the negative impact of a lottery pick in the NBA draft on his podcast, 7 pm in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony, has him on the rounds.

Carmelo Anthony Has Gracefully Embraced His Retirement!

Ten-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony retired from the NBA on May 22, 2023.

While most professional athletes find it difficult to accept retirement, Anthony has gracefully embraced this harsh reality.

Anthony’s glorious NBA career ended after 19 seasons. Despite missing winning an NBA championship title, Anthony is content with his decision and claims he has “won at life.”

“I’m at peace. That doesn’t bother me no more; that idea that you’re a loser if you don’t win a championship. For me, I’ve won. I won back in 2003, the night I shook David Stern’s hand on that [draft] stage. I made it out of Red Hook. I’ve won at life. The ring is the only thing I didn’t get. It would’ve been a great accomplishment, but I don’t regret it, because I feel like I did everything I could to get it.”

However, the athlete’s only regret seems to be not being well-versed in the NBA’s business side earlier in his career.

“The only regret I’ve got there is not being intelligent enough about the business of the game. I got that call from [Dwyane] saying, ‘Take the three-year deal; we’re all doing that,’ and I’m like, ‘Do you know where I’m from, man?’ Like, I’m happy, bro. I’m cool with Denver.’ ”

Therefore, this naivety prevented him from collaborating with other players like LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

Nevertheless, he has earned a National Championship and three Olympic Gold Medals.

Hailed as one of the best scorers in NBA history, his illustrious NBA career serves as an example that athletes may have successful and memorable careers without winning a championship.

Recently, many NBA fans have been wondering what the ten-time All-Star is up to nowadays.

After his retirement, the legend received offers from the New Orleans Pelicans and several Chinese Basketball Association teams.

However, he chose to stay retired and spent the summer of 2023 as an ambassador for the 2023 FIBA World Cup.

Moreover, he is very active on his podcast channel, 7 pm in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony.

He boasts over 320K subscribers on his channel, with a minimum of 30K to 500K viewership per video.

Anthony has an incredible net worth of $160 million, which allows him to live a lavish and comfortable lifestyle.

The Former NBA Player Has Also Dabbled In Several Other Business Ventures!

The former NBA star is booked and busy while navigating several ventures and projects.

Furthermore, he is reportedly in talks with numerous networks, including Amazon Prime Video and NBC, regarding potential NBA analyst roles.

Additionally, rumors are suggesting ESPN is keen on bringing Anthony on board for NBA coverage.

If Anthony secures a contract, it will be his first time working in broadcasting. Beyond that, the former star has also dabbled in business ventures.

He has established Creative 7 Productions, a content production company, and Melo7 Tech Partners, a venture finance firm.

Furthermore, he also launched his very own vine company, VII(N) The Seventh Estate, alongside entrepreneur and vinter Asani Swann Benjamin.

Besides these projects, Anthony has also dedicated his time to building a strong bond with his son, Kiyan Anthony.

While Anthony has accepted his NBA retirement now, there was a time when he was not ready to call it off.

After a disastrous time with the Houston Rockets in 2018, Anthony had to contend with the potential of his NBA retirement.

However, he realized he still had something to contribute after a year without playing.

“I ended up being away from the game for [a year], and that time showed me, Oh, this is what [the end] feels like? Nah, I’m not ready yet. I knew I still had something to give—that I could help a team if I just got another opportunity.”

But thankfully, Portland Trail Blazers subsequently offered him an opportunity in the 2019-20 season. Hence, he had a good second season with them, achieving a career-high three-point percentage.

In the summer of 2021, the Los Angeles Lakers gave Anthony a bench spot for his 19th professional season.

Therefore, Anthony’s “rock-bottom moment” following the Houston issue offered him a fresh perspective and made him grateful for the opportunity to continue playing.

Carmelo Anthony is also active in philanthropy, which he started during his early NBA days.
