Former NFL MVP Shaun Alexander and his wife, Valerie, are expecting their 14th child. The couple already has 10 daughters and 3 sons together.

Alexander shared the news on the Up & Adams Show, saying, “Number 14 is in the belly,” with a big smile.

He didn’t mention the baby’s gender or due date, and said the show’s host, Kay Adams, was the first person on TV he told.

Shaun and Valerie, married since 2002, have children named Judea, Hope, Hosanna, Eternity, Torah, Jedidiah, Honor, Temple, Justus, Joseph, Eden, Trinity, and Heaven.

Shaun Alexander and His Wife, Valerie, Became Parents For the First Time In 2002

Former Seattle Seahawks player tied the knot with his wife, Valerie, in 2002. They welcomed their first child, Heaven, in 2003.

Since then, they have welcomed a total of 13 children (10 daughters and three sons). Valerie once wrote on Instagram that Heaven became a big sister when her 12 siblings were born.

Their children, in order of birth, are Heaven, Trinity, Eden, Joseph, Justus, Temple, Honor, Jedidiah, Torah, Eternity, Hosanna, Hope, and Judea. Sadly, their ninth child, Torah, has passed away.

The former athlete often shares glimpses of his family life on social media, like posting photos from events and special moments.

In a 2019 Father’s Day message for the Parental Rights Foundation, he said,

“I have received many awards and recognition in my life, but my greatest title is being a father.”

Shaun Alexander

Shaun and Valerie’s children often join their parents at events to support their dad.

In December 2018, when Shaun was honored in the SEC Football Legends Class, he shared photos with his kids and wrote that he was “grateful to share this night with my family.”

In October 2022, the whole family traveled to Seattle for Shaun’s Ring of Honor induction. He posted,

“The Ring of Honor celebration last weekend was amazing. More than anything, my journey has been all about family. I’m grateful that for the first time, my entire family was able to travel to Seattle and be with the Seahawks.”

Sometimes, the kids even plan outings themselves. In April 2025, Shaun took his sons to the NFL Draft for his son Jedidiah’s birthday.

He captioned the post, “I asked Jedidiah what he wanted for his birthday; he said go somewhere with you. So, draft it was. Great time with my boys.”
