Jake Roehn had an impressive college baseball career as a relief pitcher, mainly with Ohio University’s Bobcats in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) from 2014 to 2018.
Starting in 2014, he pitched for four seasons. His best year came in 2017 when he set a program record with 15 saves and posted a 2.28 ERA, earning his First Team All-MAC honors.
He also helped his team win the MAC tournament and reach a regional berth.
That year, he was also a semifinalist for the Stopper of the Year Award. In 2018, he was named a Preseason All-American but had a tougher season with a 4.65 ERA, still securing 7 saves in 25 appearances.
Over his college career, he recorded 29 saves, tying the program’s all-time record, and struck out 176 batters in 200.1 innings and maintained a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
Jake also played briefly in summer leagues and professionally with the Windy City ThunderBolts in 2018.
After his playing days, he transitioned to coaching, becoming an assistant coach at Regis University in 2020, where he worked with pitchers.
Jake then transitioned into the construction and engineering industry. He began as a Field Engineer at IHC Scott, where he spent nearly a year before his talent quickly earned him a promotion to Project Engineer within the same company.
Seeking new challenges, Jake transitioned to WW Clyde in 2023, first as a Project Engineer in Mesa, Arizona.
Eventually, his leadership and impact paved the way for his role as Deputy Project Manager at the same company, which he assumed in June 2025.

Speaking of his academics, Jake earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Sport Studies from Ohio University.
Likewise, he also earned his master’s degree in coaching education from Ohio University before getting his associate’s degree in construction management from Ashworth College.
Thus far, the details surrounding his funeral services have yet to be published by his family.
