Former Waukomis HS Basketball Star, Daniel Richards, 19, Dies In Accident, Leaving Behind Parents Brandee and Doug

Daniel ‘Danny’ Richards, an Enid, Oklahoma resident and former high school athlete, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at an untimely age of 19, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.

His elder brother, Kino Richards, took to his social media to announce the untimely death of Daniel Richards due to vechile accident.

He was in a vehicle accident on November 2 that tragically took his life. His family is requesting help with funeral expenses. Any donation will help.

Kino shared several beautiful pictures of his brother Daniel and posted a heartfelt tribute to him on Facebook that reads:

“This is a hard one to post; I never thought I’d be making a post like this about my baby brother. He wasn’t just my brother; he was also my best friend. Anything I did, he was right by my side. Daniel Richards always made sure I was okay and that our family was doing well.I can’t believe the last time I got to talk to you was last night; I never thought this would have happened to such an amazing, loving, caring person like you. You made sure to put a smile on everyone’s face when they were upset or anything; you made sure I ate even when I was down to my lowest; you still stuck by my side and helped me out no matter what.”

Born on August 25, 2006, Daniel Richards touched the lives of many with his kind-hearted nature and his amazing athletic skills.

The untimely death of Daniel Richards has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.

Many of his loved ones are paying tribute to the late Daniel Richards and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Daniel Richards is survived by his parents, Brandee Richards Easley and Doug Easley Jr.; his siblings; his grandparents; uncles; aunts; and the entire family.

Daniel Richards Was a Standout Football and Basketball Player at Waukomis High School

The late Daniel Richards was a dedicated multi-sport athlete from Waukomis High School in Waukomis, Oklahoma, remembered for his motto, “life’s too short to wait.”

Standing 5’7,” Daniel excelled in both basketball and football, playing as a point guard and shooting guard (#2) on the boys’ varsity basketball team from 2021 to 2025, and as a cornerback and running back (#27) on the varsity football team from 2021 to 2024.

During the 2025 varsity basketball season, he served as a starter under Coach Allen Hicks.

He spent one year as a varsity basketball starter and continued to develop at both guard positions with a dominant right hand.

In football, Daniel contributed to strong team records, helping Waukomis finish 9–3 overall and 4–1 in district play in 2024, earning a #16 state ranking. His earlier football seasons included a 3–7 finish in 2023 and 4–6 in 2022.

His basketball teams recorded seasons with records of 10–14 in 2023, ranking #326 in Oklahoma, and 2–4 in 2021, ranking #337 in the state.

After graduating from high school, Daniel Richards became the owner and CEO of Richard’s Lawn Care, a local landscaping and lawn-care service company that describes itself as hardworking and ready to help maintain residential and commercial yards.

Daniel Richards’ contributions to the community, both as an exceptional athlete and a skilled lawn care provider, will always be remembered.

His family will soon provide details about his funeral and memorial services.
