Fred McGriff’s wife, Veronica McGriff, has been with him through all the thick and thin in his life.
In an interview, Fred appreciated his wife, stating, “It’s awesome because she’s been with me this whole time. Because with baseball, you have success but a lot of failure. You can have a lot of oh-for-fours and a lot of sleepless nights.”
The couple has been married for more than three decades. They are doting parents to two children, a son, and a daughter.
Frederick Stanley McGriff, nicknamed “Crime Dog,” is an American former first baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB) who played for six teams from 1986 through 2004.
Born on October 31, 1963, in Tampa, Florida, to parents Eliza and Earl, he attended Jefferson High School and played collegiate baseball for the Georgia Bulldogs.
The athlete’s professional career began after the New York Yankees drafted him in the 1981 amateur draft.
Over the years, he played with several teams, such as the Toronto Blue Jays, San Diego Padres, Atlanta Braves, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and Chicago Cubs.
Throughout his career, he became a World Series Champion in 1995 with the Braves and was named to the All-Star team 5 times.
On July 23, 2023, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The Florida-born Fred married Veronica in 1988. The couple has been with each other through all the ups and down.
They have been married for over 38 years and are still going strong.
Veronica enrolled at Cortiva Institute Florida from 2009 to 2011, learning therapeutic massage.
She then studied tourism and travel services management at PennFoster, as per her Linkedin profile.
The wife of the former baseball player then worked as a travel advisor for My Paradise Planner.
She has opened an e-commerce business named Oilnoint Cellar Health, which provides essential oils and other natural products for children and pets.
In addition, Veronica provides personalized care and guidance on how to use essential oils safely and effectively.

The Hall of Famer and his other half, Veronica, have two children named Erick and Ericka, respectively.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Erick pursued athletics but pursued different sports during high school and college.
He played football and basketball for Jesuit High School of Tampa and completed high school in 2009.
Subsequently, Erick played collegiate football as a wide receiver for the Kansas Jayhawks.
According to his Linkedin profile, he has been working as a retail field manager at Pratt Industries since April 2015.
On the other hand, Ericka attended Spelman College and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, majoring in fashion merchandising and marketing in 2016.
Currently she has been working as a project manager since October 2021. Prior to this, Ericka worked in talent management at Digital Management for over one year.
