Gabriel Stefan Kapler also known as “Kap” was born on July 31, 1975, in Hollywood, California.

He is an American former professional baseball outfielder and former manager of the San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Kapler attended Woodland Hills’ William Howard Taft Charter High School. He played shortstop, second base, and third base for the baseball club.

Kapler attended Cal State-Fullerton on scholarship for one semester in the fall of 1993 before transferring to Moorpark College in the fall of 1994.

He earned the title of First Team All-Western State Conference. Furthermore, Moorpark College inducted him into their Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008.

The Detroit Tigers selected Kapler in the 57th round (1,487th overall) in the 1995 MLB draft.

Kapler coached the Israeli national baseball team in the 2013 World Baseball Classic after retiring as a player.

His team, the San Francisco Giants, recently fired him. His future seems very uncertain for now.
