Anthony Peter Couvall, affectionately known as Tony, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering passion for life.
Born on March 2, 1979, in Dallas, Texas, Tony grew up in a family deeply rooted in hard work, tradition, and love—a foundation that shaped the remarkable man he became.
Tony graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1997, where his natural athletic talent made him stand out.
His passion for sports, particularly baseball, continued well beyond his school years.
He played in various local leagues, excelling in baseball, basketball, and football, and later found immense joy in coaching the GoJo’s Baseball team.
Whether on the field or in the stands, Tony brought unmatched energy and encouragement, motivating players and friends alike.
He especially loved the NFL football season, which he celebrated by organizing game-day gatherings, cooking for loved ones, making friendly bets, and enjoying every moment with his family and friends.
After high school, Tony worked at GoJo’s Restaurant, the cherished family business owned by his father, where he learned the values of service, community, and integrity.
In 2007, Tony began his career as a Code Officer for the City of Waukegan, a role he proudly served in for over 13 years.
His colleagues and community admired his strong work ethic, dedication, and honesty.
Tony is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Donna (Edwards) and Peter Couvall, and his brother, Jonathan.
His memory lives on through the lives he touched—his extended family, close friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His cousin, David A. Patterson, expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown love and support during this difficult time, sharing that Tony now rests in eternal peace with his family.
Visitation will take place on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 10:00 am at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.
