Cole Munyon, a baseball player from Newbury Park High School, passed away tragically in a traffic accident.

His unexpected passing has left friends, family, and the community grieving deeply as they face the surprising end of a life full of possibilities.

Cole Munyon was a rising 2027 grad from Newbury Park High School who committed to Oklahoma State.

The second baseman broke out in 2024, earning a ranking with his bat, and transitioned to shortstop, demonstrating the defensive skills to remain at the position long-term in his sophomore year.

Similarly, he posted a .352 average with a 1.022 OPS in 85 plate appearances with 12 BBs, six doubles, and three homers for the Panthers for the 2025 spring campaign.

For his remarkable performance, he was expected to attend the Future Games Tryout: Malibu to compete for a spot on Team SoCal at the 2025 Prep Baseball Future.

The Newbury Park High School community and the Munyon family are heartbroken to announce the tragic and untimely passing of Cole Munyon.

He passed away in a traffic accident, ending a life full of promise and leaving everyone who knew him in deep grief.

Cole Munyon was a beloved son, teammate, and friend.

He was a dedicated student-athlete who wore the Newbury Park Panthers uniform with pride.

On the baseball diamond, he was a committed teammate whose passion for the game was clearly seen in his effort and spirit.

His presence in the dugout and on the field will be deeply missed by his coaches and fellow players, who not only valued his athletic contributions but also his camaraderie.

Cole’s journey was steadfastly supported by his devoted parents, who were his most constant and enthusiastic fans.

Their consistent attendance at his games, through every win and difficulty, was a monument to the close-knit friendship they shared and their great belief in their kid.

The family’s loss is immeasurable.
