HBHS Student Dylan Worthington’s Death Shocks Hamilton Boys’ High School and the Wider Community

Dylan Worthington’s death has left his family, friends, and wider community grieving the sudden loss of a young life filled with promise.

Dylan passed away unexpectedly in an accident on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. He was 19 years old.

Jo Worthington’s family first shared the heartbreaking news publicly through Dylan’s older brother, Blake Jo Worthington.

He confirmed that his younger brother had passed away and announced that a funeral service would be held to honor Dylan’s life.

Blake also shared details for those who wish to attend the service in person or join via livestream, allowing friends and loved ones to come together in remembrance.

Hamilton Boys’ High School later confirmed Dylan Worthington’s death, describing it as a tragic loss for the school community.

Dylan belonged to the HBHS Class of 2023 and proudly represented the school during his time there.

He actively participated in the rowing program and embraced the chance to play social football.

Teachers and peers remembered him as a kind-hearted, genuine young man whose presence left a lasting impression.

The school extended its deepest condolences to Dylan’s family and encouraged those who knew him to support them during this difficult time.

They closed their tribute with a heartfelt farewell, “Moe mai raa, Dylan.

Gordonton School also acknowledged Dylan Worthington’s death, sharing its sympathy with the Worthington family.

Staff and community members who remembered the family from their time at Gordonton School and Rainbows expressed their sorrow and offered their thoughts during this tragic period.

Dylan David Worthington was the much-loved son of Joanne and Glenn Worthington and the younger brother of Blake.

His family described him as a kindhearted young man who was taken far too soon.

His death has created an immeasurable void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, and his memory will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Dylan’s Givealittle page to help ease financial burdens during this time.

A service to celebrate Dylan Worthington’s life will take place on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Raleigh Street Christian Centre in Leamington, Cambridge.

Following the service, his family will lay him to rest at Hamilton Park Cemetery.

As the community comes together to mourn Dylan Worthington’s death, they remember him as a young man defined by kindness, sincerity, and quiet strength—qualities that will not be forgotten.
