Harry Kane’s parents, Pat Kane and Kim Kane played a significant role in delving him into soccer & make him an outstanding name around the globe.

He is a striker for Premier League Club Tottenham Hotspur in England and the team captain for the English national team.

Kane is recognized as one of the top strikers in the world due to his prolific goal-scoring and strong link play. He is also the all-time leading goalscorer for Tottenham Hotspur and England, as well as the third-highest Premier League goalscorer.

His kickstart into football happened at a young age. In 1999, when he was only six years old, he joined a local club named Ridgeway Rovers.

Harry Kane Parents

Kane’s parents married in 1986 in London, and they come from different family backgrounds.

Patrick Kane, his father, is from Galway, Ireland; therefore, he has Irish ancestry, while Kim was born and raised in London. As a result, he is of mixed ethnicity.

Charlie Kane, Harry’s elder brother, was the first child born to parents Kim and Patrick Kane. They welcomed Harry, the future football great, after seven years of marriage.

The family relocated to Chingford, where Harry went to Larkswood Primary School. Following this, he attended Chingford Foundation School, the same school that David Beckham attended.

The sportsman would not be where he is today without his parent’s unconditional love and support. They raised him to be a good person on and off the pitch, and his upbringing really assisted his sportsmanship.

His parents are extremely pleased with his accomplishments.

Maternal Family

Harry Kane received his sporty predisposition from his mother’s side of the family. His maternal grandparents, especially his grandfather, Eric Edward Hogg, were football players.

Eric was a semi-professional footballer who played for Blundell Rovers in the 1960s and later for Brentwood and Warley (now Brentwood Town F.C.). He was the youngest of eight siblings, five of whom were football-obsessed brothers of his.

During WWII, the eldest of the Hogg brothers founded a youth team in Islington. His name was also Harry.

Harry is, therefore, not the first member of the family to pursue his love of athletics.

When the late semi-professional player found out about the birth of his new grandchild in the hospital, he suggested that the child would either be a criminal or an excellent footballer. Harry did not disappoint him and went on to become one of the best strikers in the world.

Eric, the man Harry attributes his talent to, predicted the Three Lions captain would go on to glory but died before he could do it.

He would be overjoyed to see his grandchild succeed in football. His sister Bette Bovington, age 77, said:

“He’s up there now doing cartwheels at what that boy’s doing. He would be so, so proud.”

Eric died when Harry was only ten years old, but the striker praises his grandfather’s talent in the game, saying that he thinks Eric was a brilliant footballer.

Family members claim that they can spot Eric in Harry’s movements.

His father, on the other hand, despises him for claiming that he acquired his athletic ability from his maternal heritage. Any mention of the matter generates a furious debate in the Kane household.

Paternal Family

Patrick Kane, Harry Kane’s father, was born in County Galway prior to his family moving to London.

Michael John Kane, Harry’s paternal grandfather, was from Letterfrack in Galway.

He passed away in 2013. After that, his remains were returned to his hometown of Letterfrack, where he was laid to rest at the neighborhood cemetery.

Many members of Harry Kane’s extended family continue to reside in Letterfrack. As a matter of fact, a few of Harry’s cousins are famous traditional Irish musicians in the region.

Growing up, Harry frequently traveled to Connemara.

Kane might have represented the Republic of Ireland due to his Irish ancestors, but it appears that his heart was always with England.

In an interview in 2019, he stated that his grandfather was Irish; thus, he had the option of playing for Ireland. However, it was his goal to play for England.
