When Akinfeev was just four years old, his father sent him to CSKA’s Sports school. Since then, Igor has been with the team his whole life. Moreover, during his youth days, he won the Russian Junior Championship.

After spending a decade in the youth system of CSKA, Akinfeev finally realized his dreams when he made his debut against FC Krylia at the age of 16.
