Keaton Mitchell is an American professional football player who plays running back for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League. Even though Mitchell went undrafted in the 2023 NFL draft, the Ravens signed him on May 5.

Consequently, Pro Football Focus named him one of the top ten undrafted free-agent signings this season.

Before that, Keaton was a student-athlete for the East Carolina Pirates, where he played three seasons. He earned First-Team All-AAC selections for his performances in the latter two seasons.

Aside from his sports career, he was pursuing a degree in sports studies but chose to forgo college after his sophomore year.

Growing up alongside his athletic older brother, Keaton developed an interest in sports and began playing soccer, football, and running at a young age. 

After completing middle school, he attended Eagle’s Landing, where he did exceptionally well, leading his team to four state titles. He was part of a team that won 54 out of 56 games in the last two seasons.

It might be because he came from the family with an athletic background, Mitchell always received support from them.

His dad, Anthony, is a former NFL player. Although undrafted in the 1999 draft, the Ravens signed him as an undrafted free agent. Consequently, he played a crucial role in helping them win the Super Bowl in 2000.

He further appeared for the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars, but his professional career lasted only six years.

Similarly, his mother, Kandice Pritchett Mitchell, played football for the Atlanta Phoenix of the Women’s National Football Conference.

Last, his older brother, Kobi, attended Tuskegee University and played defensive back for its football team, following in his dad’s footsteps. However, he was not as successful as his dad and younger brother.
