Professional football player Jacoby Brissett made news headlines at the end of last month for his potential trade rumors. Although the trade did not happen until the deadline, and reportedly, the Commanders QB is asking for a release.
Jacoby has been benched for the whole 2023 season, as Ron Rivera picked Sam Howell as their starting QB.
With no play time offered this season, Jacoby Brissett clearly does not want to stay with the Commanders.
“I was brought in here to start and that is clearly not in their plans. I know I’m a starter in this league,” Brissett said.

Jacoby Jajuan Brissett is an American professional football player who plays quarterback for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League.
Starting his professional career as the 91st overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft, Jacoby debuted for the New England Patriots on September 18, 2016, against the Miami Dolphins.
Before his NFL debut, Brissett collegiate football for the Florida Gators and the NC State Wolfpack.
Jacoby Brissett Demands Release: Where Will The QB Go?
After staying with the Cleveland Browns for only a year, Jacoby Brissett signed a new contract with the Washington Commanders on March 16, 2023.
While with the Browns, Jacoby started all their first eleven games, where he notched his career-high 14 touchdowns for 2608 passing yards, completing 64% of his passes for an 88.9 passer rating in a single season.
Although the Browns fans loved him and wanted him to stay with the team for long, Brissett moved to the Commanders, signing a $8 million deal in March 2023.
Unfortunately, Jacoby did not see any action this season after the 2022 NFL draft pick Sam Howell was chosen as the starting QB over him.
While it is common knowledge that Brissett is unhappy with his position inside the Commanders, he has not devised any plan for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, some tabloids have reported he has started demanding his release. If it is true, it would not be surprising if he returned to the Cleveland Browns.
Overviewing the comment section of his social media handle, Browns fans are urging him to leave the Commanders for the Browns.
Similarly, football analysts and pundits were speculating that the Browns could take him back before the trade deadline in October, but it did not happen.

Jacoby Brissett was born to his parents on December 11, 1992, in West Palm Beach, Florida. Unfortunately, there is no information about his biological dad.
In the absence of his father, his mother, Lisa Brown, raised him as a single parent. He does not have any siblings.
Growing up in Florida, Jacoby attended William T. Dwyer High School, where he played quarterback for his school team under the head coach Jack Daniels.
He led his team to the first state championships in his junior year. At the end of his school career, Rivals.com named him the four-star recruit and the third-best dual-threat quarterback of the 2010 class.
Soon after, he committed to play for the Florida Gators, where he stayed for two seasons.
