Samantha Hope Alsop, born on October 14, 1998, to parents Christina Gorton and Nik Alsop, won the hearts of many in the Redlands community with her amazing athletic skills, excelling in multiple sports.
A 2017 graduate of Loma Linda Academy in Loma Linda, California, Samantha was a standout multi-sport athlete, excelling in both basketball and softball.
She played varsity basketball wearing jersey #10 and was a key contributor to the team throughout her high school career, having also played on the junior varsity squad during her earlier years.
In softball, Sam played as an outfielder, wearing jersey number 2, and consistently demonstrated her athletic skills on the field. During her sophomore year in 2014, she earned a Player of the Game award on April 29, highlighting her impact and dedication.
Although Samantha didn’t pursue her career in sports, she pursued higher education in the field of kinesiology and exercise science.
She began her studies at San Diego State University, where she earned an associate’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from August 2017 to May 2019.
Sam then continued at Boise State University, completing her bachelor’s degree in the same field between August 2019 and December 2021.
Most recently, she furthered her studies at A.T. Still University, earning a Physician Assistant degree from 2023 to 2025, continuing to build her expertise in health and exercise science and build her career as a PA.
Talking about her family, Samantha Alsop’s father, Nik Alsop, is actively involved in the sports community of Redlands, California. He serves as the Chief Operating Officer at UK International Soccer.
Likewise, her mother, Christina Gorton, is an Aesthetician Specialist at Olive Branch Med Spa in Redlands. She has been an Esthetician for over 25 years.
