San Antonio Man Julian Champagnie Is Engaged To His Long-time Girlfriend and New York Native, Cassidy Velez

Julian Champagnie and Cassidy Velez officially announced their relationship on May 21, 2023. In July 2024, the couple became engaged, with Cassidy posting on social media, “The beginning of forever.”

The pair have been seen together at key moments and public appearances, aligning with Julian’s career trajectory, having studied in the same university, St. John’s, as well.

Julaian’s girlfriend is also often seen attending her Fiancé’s matches. Cassidy, a New York Native, has also written a heartfelt message dedicated to the love of her life.

He played college basketball at St. John’s Red Storm (2019‑2022) after attending Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Brooklyn.

Although he declared for the 2022 NBA Draft, he went undrafted. He later signed with the San Antonio Spurs and has been developing into a rotation wing.

In his NBA career to date, Champagnie’s numbers show steady progress. According to Basketball-Reference, over his career (so far), he has averaged about 8.5 points per game, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

As of the 2025‑26 season, his per‑game averages include ~7.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists, with a field goal percentage around 41.4 %. He continues to improve his three‑point shooting and looks to expand his role.
