James Thrash Son: Is He Related To Jamari Thrash? Family Tree

This article was last updated by on

Despite social media rumors, it’s important to clarify that Jamari Thrash is not related to former athlete James Thrash.

Fans tried to connect James and Jamari due to football ties, shared last names, and playing the same position.

However, these speculations are false. James has a son named Jayden James Thrash with his wife, Amber Thrash.

James Ray Thrash is a former American football player who played as a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on April 28, 1975, in Denver, Colorado.

Thrash attended Wewoka High School and joined Missouri Southern State University. He began his football career playing college football for the university.

In 1997, the Philadelphia Eagles signed Thrash as an undrafted free agent. However, he soon joined the Washington Redskins after being released by the Eagles.

After spending four seasons with the Redskins, Thrash joined the Eagles again in 2001. He remained with the Eagles for three seasons, starting as a wide receiver in two of those seasons.

In 2005, however, the Redskins traded their 5th-round draft pick with the Eagles to bring Thrash back to their camp.

The Redskins released Thrash following a neck injury which led to the wide receiver’s retirement in 2009.

James Thrash Son: Is He Related To Jamari Thrash?

Jamari Thrash is not the son of James Thrash. Despite widespread rumors that the two are related, these rumors are false.

James is in no way related to the 22-year-old Jamari. However, they share the same last name and play in the same position as wide receivers for their respective teams.

This could be one of the reasons why fans have mistaken the two wide receivers to be related.

Nevertheless, James is the father of Jayden James Thrash. He also has a daughter Abriel, who the 48-year-old shares with his wife, Amber.

Unfortunately, very little is known about his family since the former athlete values his privacy.

Based on available reports, it’s likely Jayden was born on May 10, 2002.

Furthermore, the former wide receiver doesn’t seem to have any social media accounts, which makes it difficult to find out more about his personal life.

It is reported that James works as a Christian evangelist and works with various churches. Likewise, the NFL appointed him as an appeals officer in 2015.

Additionally, the former Redskins wide receiver has joined the No More organization, which helps in combating domestic violence and sexual assault.

Jamari Thrash

Despite much speculation, Jamari Thrash is not the son of James Thrash. He is, in fact, the son of Rodney Wright and Mary Thrash.

Born December 19, 2000, in LaGrange, Georgia, Jamari is a wide receiver for the Louisville Cardinals, graduating from Troup County High.

He committed to play for Georgia State University after a successful high school career, with 134 receptions for 2,389 yards and 31 touchdowns.

Thrash scored his first touchdown for Georgia State University in 2020, catching a 22-yard reception.

Furthermore, he finished the 2020 season with 9 receptions for 161 yards and two touchdowns.

In 2021, Thrash’s breakout game propelled the Panthers to victory over Texas State, making him the team’s top receiver.

Additionally, he finished the 2022 season with 62 receptions for 1,222 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for five yards.

In the Panthers’ history, Jamari holds the fifth spot in receiving yards (1,752) and the eighth spot in receptions (104), with a tie for sixth in touchdown receptions (12).

However, after the 2022 season, Thrash announced his decision to transfer to Louisville. In his debut, the wide receiver caught seven passes for 88 yards while making two touchdowns.
