Leonard was drafted in the 1985 NBA Draft by the Mavericks and played at San Diego State and Spain.
The Cavs center Jarrett grew up with his older brother Leonard Allen Sr. who had committed to playing basketball for Baylor University but took a leave of absence in 2017.
It was a dream for the two brothers as a child to make it big in basketball since their father played for eight seasons in the NBA.
And they always had someone to pass the ball around, which helped them to hone their skills further.
However, only Jarrett made it to the biggest basketball league in the world NBA.
Education
Jarrett went to Round Rock High School for his freshman year and transferred to St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin for his final three years.
As a high schooler, he won two SPC championships and played in the 2016 McDonald’s All-American Boys Game.
After super impressive high school basketball, Allen committed to the University of Texas.
He was a five-star recruit in the Class of 2016.
After freshman year, Allen declared for the 2017 NBA Draft forgoing his remaining three years of collegiate eligibility.
Career
The Brooklyn Nets picked Jarrett Allen 22nd overall in the 2017 NBA Draft. He stayed with the team for five seasons until he was traded to the Cavaliers in 2021.

After five seasons of amazing play with the Nets, he was traded to the Cavs in a multi-player, four-team deal with the Houston Rockers that sent James Harden to the Nets.
On July 2021, Cavs extended a qualifying offer to Jarrett, making him a restricted free agent.
In August of the same year, he signed a multi-year contract with the team.
