His debut season’s highest recorded personal score was in a victorious match against Oakland Raiders.

This was also his first interception since 2016. Further, he re-signed with the 49ers on April 1, 2020, worth a $5.5m base incentive that can take up to $6.5 million.

George Kittle all cheered up, but why?

Kittle expressed joy when he came across the news of Jason’s comeback. Don’t you trust us? Here is a tweet by George himself in favor of Jason.

Not only him, but John Lynch, Fred Warner, and Jed York were also happy with the news. It’s all because Verrett has proven his caliber even when injured.

But he is below the market value, which makes sense since he played at a Pro Bowl level in his last two healthy seasons.

Well, Verrett is all about health versus production. And If he plays well and stays healthy, Verrett can make it to the 2022 free agency pool as a heavyweight player in a field flush.

Jason expresses gratitude to Richard Sherman.

Coming to Niners, Jason was placed on injured reserve on October 3, 2019, within four months of joining with an ankle injury.

According to Verrett, there were former teammates from his time with the Chargers who gave him moral support round the clock during his comeback attempt. And the supporters included his new teammate Richard Sherman.

“Fast forward, when I got here to this squad, Sherman dealt with the Achilles injury, and he stood in my corner with the ankle injury that I had in 2019, then I kept having those positive thoughts.”

This is what Verret said on KNBR’s Much & Mac show. The kind and humble words that Richard used to deliver gave him all the motive to stand where he was.

In return, all just Verrett could give him was respect and friendship.

He could not stop talking good about Richard “A true leader, pro, Hall of Famer, the whole nine yards.”
