Having been associated with the Canadian Football League team since 2013, Reinebold immediately contacted his wife to convey the distressing scene.
“We knew that there had been a tragedy, but we did not know the scope of it.”
Additionally, Reinebold’s wife is actively involved as a special education teacher.
She also runs Surf Therapy Canada, an organization that provides recreational and therapeutic programs tailored for children, adolescents, and their families.

Jeff Reinebold’s journey in the realm of American and Canadian football is both diverse and extensive.
He began his academic and athletic pursuits at the University of Maine, where he showcased his skills as a defensive back for the Black Bears.
During his time there, he earned three letters before moving on to Indiana University. In 1981, he graduated cum laude with a B.S. in general studies.
His coaching odyssey commenced in 1981 at Western Montana, where he served as the Wide Receivers Coach.
This was the start of a dynamic coaching career that saw him venture to institutions such as Dartmouth, Montana, Pennsylvania, Rocky Mountain College, and New Mexico.
A notable chapter in his coaching narrative includes his tenure with the University of Hawaii, where he contributed as the Defensive Line Coach for two pivotal seasons.
Following this, Reinebold enriched his coaching portfolio by serving as the Wide Receivers Coach at Southern Methodist University from 2008 to 2011.
On May 11, 2023, he was named special teams coordinator and assistant defensive backs coach of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Prior to this role, he contributed to the University of Hawaii’s football program in 2022.
