Jeff Saturday is an American professional football player turned coach who played about 14 seasons for three different clubs in the NFL. 

Born and raised in Atlanta, Jeff attended Shamrock High School, where he played football under the head coach Ron Gartrell.

He then enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Tart Heels, where he played college football until 1997.

Saturday went undrafted in the 1998 NFL draft, after which he thought his dream of playing professional football was over.

Thankfully, the Indiana Colts signed him as an undrafted free agent in 1999 on the recommendation of his former college mate Nate Hobgood-Chittick.

During his 13-year-long stint with the Colts, he won a Super Bowl six times and made it into the Pro Bowl games. 

Furthermore, Jeff briefly served as a coach for Hebron Christian Academy and Indiana Colts later after his retirement.

Jeffrey Bryan Saturday, better known as Jeff Saturday, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on June 18, 1975.

Much about his parents and early life is unknown, but his parents reportedly divorced when he was a kid.

Similarly, there is no clear information about his ethnicity, but from his surname, he is of European origin through his father.

Regarding Jeff’s religion, he is a devout Christian. However, as per his statement in the Sports Spectrum Podcast in 2018, he did not become Christian until he entered the NFL.

He further clarified that he was gradually drawn to the faith after attending the Bible classes organized by his teammates at the Indiana Colts. Soon after, his wife also converted.

Jeff admitted that his life after conversion helped him deal with his frustrations and be less stressed.

Speaking of God, he said,

“He’s ultimately in charge of all the results, and so as long as I’m doing my part of doing what I feel led to do and I feel like I’m moving in the direction that God has asked me, the results part is now in his hands.”

Little On Jeff’s Married Life And Kids

Jeff Saturday is married to his wife, Karen Saturday, with whom he has three kids. The pair tied the knot in 1999 and has been together for over two decades.

After their marriage, Karen gave birth to two sons and a daughter. Their oldest son, Jeffrey, was born in Georgia on November 15, 2001.

Following his father’s legacy, Jeffrey is a wide receiver for the North Carolina Tar Heels football team.

Similarly, their youngest son, Joshua, enjoys playing football and wants to pursue a football career. 

Jeff and Karen’s only daughter, Savannah, was born on September 4, 2002, as their second child.

As of this writing, Savannah is studying at the University of Alabama College of Nursing.
