Everyone in the Musgrove family loves baseball, including Joe Musgrove brother, Aaron & two sisters. The player’s family always helped him with every aspect of support that he needed.
Joseph Anthony Musgrove is a professional baseball pitcher for the San Diego Padres of MLB. He was born on December 4, 1992, in El Cajon, California.
Joe Musgrove, nicknamed ‘Moose,’ succeeded in carving his name in Padres history because he became a Padre legend for throwing the first-ever no-hitter in San Diego Padre history on April 9, 2021.
The San Diego native played baseball throughout his youth, as he had already begun participating in tournaments at the age of seven.
Similarly, his baseball journey started with the Grossmont High School baseball team. Musgrove was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1st round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft.
Eventually, Musgrove made his big league debut in an Astro uniform on August 2016. He spent 3 seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates before joining his hometown team, the Padres, in January of 2021.
Likewise, the 2017 World Series champion, Musgrove, has also won an All-Star in 2022.
Joe Musgrove Brother: Aaron Musgrove
Baseball has always been a family affair for the Musgroves. Aaron Musgrove, the Padre’s star pitcher’s brother, is not untouched by it.
Aaron grew up with his brother sharing a love of baseball, and the team Joe now plays for. Besides being a supportive brother, he is also a Padres fan.
Joe’s big brother frequently visits the ground with the family to cheer the pitcher. Further, Aaron doesn’t let any opportunity to spend time with his brother and the family slide away.
Aaron is active on Instagram, where he has lots of posts. However, not much information can be extracted about him as the account is currently private.
Musgrove Has Two Sisters
Musgrove grew up with his brother and two sisters, Marisa and Terra. The four Musgrove kids grew up together in El Cajon, California.
The older sister of Joe, Marisa Musgrove, is a teacher by profession. She is also the theater director at Mt. Helix Academy and currently lives in San Diego, California.
Joe’s other sister, Terra Musgrove, also lives in San Diego, California. She went to Grossmont High School, same as Joe, and played collegiate basketball for North Central College.
Terra is in a romantic relationship with her partner Michael Brown. Further, she loves posting about her close ones on social media and is frequently seen with Joe and her family.
Joe Musgrove Parents
Joe Musgrove was born to his father, Mark Musgrove, and his mother, Diane Musgrove. Like most parents, they have a great hand in shaping Joe’s career.
The MLB player’s dad & mom own Cafe Adesso, a coffee shop in Alpine.
Mark has been a lifelong baseball fan and supported the San Fransico Giants growing up. However, he switched the team after San Diego Padres was created in 1969.
The pitcher’s father worked as a police officer and private investigator in San Diego, California.
In fact, he was paralyzed from his neck below for two years after suffering from an autoimmune deficiency at one point.
Mark can be attributed to instilling the love of baseball in Joe at a very young age. Thus, it was joyful for Mark to watch his son get drafted, reach the big leagues, and finally get traded to the Padres.
Diane, Joe’s mother, filled the duty of playing baseball and catch with her son as Mark was frequently busy. She is the emotional rock of their family, a natural host, and a cook.
Similarly, Diane has always been a central part of her son’s career. She was the one who negotiated with the teams’ scouts when they paid in-home visits for the assessment of Musgrove.
Diane was always by Joe’s side ever since he started traveling for tournaments. She still can’t get enough baseball as she loves the game.
