Jordan Davis, an American professional football defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, has been transparent about his weight loss this season.
He arrived at training camp having lost 26 pounds and has been open about the benefits of his weight loss.
Davis began playing football as a junior at Mallard Creek High School and committed to play college football at Georgia.
As a true freshman, he played in 11 games. He was named to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) All-Freshman team and a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America.
Similarly, he helped his team win the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship, while also being named the winner of the Chuck Bednarik Award and the Outland Trophy in 2021.
The Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the first round with the 13th overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft and signed a four-year contract.
I don’t want to be a guy just sitting on the shelf for third down or second and long. I want to provide and play and for however long that is needed I want to make sure I’m ready for what’s expected.

Jordan Davis Shows Off His Major Weight Loss Transformation
Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis is moving differently for a good cause these days. He reported to Training Camp this year, losing a remarkable 26 pounds.
His weight loss transformation has significantly boosted his performance on the field.
Davis’s weight loss journey began midway through last season, and its benefits are already becoming clear during the Eagles’ playoff run.
He is truly showcasing the explosive player he can be at his new weight with a full offseason of work behind him.
I wanted to make the changes because it’s absolutely necessary, like cutting out the extra sugars, cutting out the juice. You can’t drink your calories,” Davis said. “I’m starting to understand that and how detrimental that is. I’m getting older. I can’t just go out and run a couple miles and the weight sheds off me. It takes more effort to get in that mode.

Davis had tried to slim down in the past, but this change is his most successful yet.
He was listed at 336 pounds and now admits his weight is less than that official listing. This is the lightest he has been since his sophomore year, when he played for the University of Georgia.
I was 330 weight in. They wanted me between the 30s, 339, 330. Came in at 330 and just trying to maintain a healthy weight. I’m feeling great, I’m feeling good.

Davis recognized the need for change and made an effort to manage his weight.
After years, something clicked for him at the end of last season, and his dedication to a new regimen has paid off.
The shape that he’s in and how he is, I’ve seen him walk around with his shirt off a lot more now, which he should. It’s good, and he just worked his butt off. You saw in Training Camp that something like this would happen, and he’s played good football through the first three weeks.

“When it gets to that point, and I’m sure he’s getting to that point now where he wants to fix it, it’s just the want you have to take within yourself that’s important.”

Davis explained how he supports his teammate by speaking with reporters after practice.
He frequently shares his weight loss journey with Carter. He’s still riding the Peloton and still not consuming all the sugar and other unhealthy substances.
The defensive tackle emphasized that the key to success is a personal commitment.
So, it’s a journey. I take it every day. When it gets to that point, and I’m sure he’s getting to that point now, and he wants to fix it, it’s just the want you have to take within yourself that’s important.

The focus on Carter’s fitness comes as he recovers from a shoulder injury suffered in Week 2, which limited his practice ahead of the Eagles’ game against the Los Angeles Rams.
