One of four kids born in a low-income family, Leclerc used to play for the local baseball team in his home country. His fortune began to shine after signing with the Rangers as an international free agent in 2011.

Throughout five seasons, he played in minor league teams: DSL Rangers, Hickory, and Frisco.

When José made his MLB debut in 2016 with the Texas Rangers, it was a dream come true moment for him and his family.

He averaged a 1.80 ERA, 15 strikeouts, and 13 walks in 15 innings from 12 games. 

Then, in 2017, he acclaimed notable milestones like striking out Mike Trout and getting Albert Pujols to fly out. In 2018, he became the Rangers’ closer after the trade of Keone Kela to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The pitcher made his World Series debut against the Diamondbacks on October 27, 2023.

Leclerc, the 6-foot relief pitcher, was born into a low-income family and lived in a two-bedroom wood shack with three siblings. He has two sisters, Anyelina (aka Angelina) and Rosi, and a brother, Angelo.

His father left the family when he was young. As a result, his mother, Fiordalicia Leclerc, raised him and his siblings as a single mom.

But everything is on smooth ground now for the Leclerc family. After signing with the Rangers, he bought a new house for his mother.

Jose’s older brother, Angelo Leclerc (October 9, 1991), also played baseball from 2010 to 2016- mainly in the minor league affiliates for the Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox.

The Texas Rangers player is married to his wife, Oclenny Blanco de Leclerc. She was born on November 11, 1996, and is 29 years old.

Jose often posts pictures with his spouse on his Facebook. Together, the duo shares two children, including a son from Jose’s previous relationship.

Leclerc welcomed his first son, Joshuel Emmanuel Leclerc, on June 17, 2016, though the details of his baby mama are not out.

Later, with his wife, Oclenny, the baseball player became the father of his second son, Liam Jose, on February 23, 2020.

As for the courtship of Jose and Ocelenny, they have yet to open up about how their relationship began.

A picture from September 2018 on the MLB star’s Facebook features him and Oclenny seemingly in a wedding dress. Perhaps they exchanged vows at that time.

The family of four currently resides in Texas. Oclenny often attends her hubby’s baseball games and showcases her utmost support for his career.
