Retired pharmacist and former athlete Joseph A. Sordillo died on February 13, 2025, at 87. Sordillo was a talented football player during his heyday before he decided to shift his career towards the medical field.

Native to Massachusetts, Sordillo previously lived in Tweksbury and Somerville before taking his last breath at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge.

As a high school student, Sordillo showed interest in football and adult softball. He also enjoyed playing street hockey and watching tennis.

During his lifetime, Sordillo also received the opportunity to serve his country and was part of the US Army for two years.

He was honorably discharged in 1962, and it was during his time in the Army that he met his wife.

The former military man is survived by his five kids-Mary Berquist, Joseph Jr., John, Robert, and Nicole Miller.

Joseph will receive military honors on March 1 from 2 to 5 PM at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home in Tewksbury.

While Ethel closely followed the Boston Red Sox, Joseph was a major football fan, especially of the New England Patriots.

Ethel’s obituary doesn’t mention Nicole Miller as one of her kids. It states that she is survived by four kids.
