Green went to The King’s School in Sydney and immediately made an impact, dominating the local scene to such an extent that he was selected to represent the NSW U16 state team at 13.
He transferred to Mountain Ridge High School and then to IMG Academy in Florida, becoming a five-star draft prospect. Eventually, 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN rated Green as a top player in the 2019 recruiting class.

Early Life
Josh Green was raised in the north-west Sydney suburb of Castle Hill. Josh started playing basketball at the young age of five, being coached by his mother.
Green tried his hands on a wide range of sports as a junior. By the time he was 10, he had been selected to represent his home state of New South Wales in nine separate sports, a remarkable feat at such an age.
Additionally, he was also an aspiring Australian rules footballer in his younger years. He played local football for the Westbrook Bulldogs.
In Australia, he was offered a place at the academy level at the Swans and Greater Western Sydney Giants. At the age of 13, Green accepted the offer to join the Giants academy.
However, in November 2014, because of his father’s professional work commitments, the family migrated to Phoenix, Arizona. Josh Green was only 13 at that time, and from there, he started his basketball journey in the US.
