Kai Martinez Jones, born on January 19, 2001, is a talented Bahamian NBA player who recently played for the Charlotte Hornets.

His journey to the NBA began when he attended an NBA-organized Basketball Without Borders Americas camp in Nassau during the summer of 2017.

Following his high school senior year, he played a postgraduate season at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

In 2018, Kai Jones made a significant decision by committing to play college basketball for the University of Texas over offers from other prestigious NCAA Division I programs.

Jones was eventually selected with the 19th pick in the 2021 NBA draft by the New York Knicks.

Although he was quickly traded to the Charlotte Hornets. He officially signed with the Hornets on August 3, 2021.

Finally, Jones confessed that his love for anime, specifically Dragon Ball Z, played a role in his hair color choice.

The vibrant blue is inspired by the Super Saiyan god Goku, a character from the Dragon Ball Z anime.

When asked about the reactions from his teammates and fans, Jones revealed that his blue hair initially took them by surprise.

While his teammates couldn’t believe it at first, they soon came to admire his bold choice.

As for his fanbase, they enthusiastically embraced his new hair color. Evidently, many were looking forward to seeing their favorite player sporting teal blue hair in the game NBA 2023 updates.

After a long wait, fans were thrilled when the game finally updated his hair in January 2023, further solidifying Kai Jones’s status as a trendsetter both on and off the court.
