Katrina recently earned immense attention after winning the U.S. Open qualifications against Elvina Kalieva on Friday, 25th of August. She will now face Greet Minnen for the qualifying final on August 26.

Katrina Scott reached the quarterfinals as a wildcard at the junior 2019 U.S. Open, losing in three sets to Oksana Selekhmeteva.

Later, she participated in Wimbledon as a qualifier, losing in three sets in the round of 16 to Emma Navarro.

Moreover, Scott was part of the United States’ third consecutive win when she, with Robin Montgomery and Connie Ma, led the U.S. to the Junior Federation Cup in 2019.

She debuted her senior Grand Slam at the 2020 US Open as a wildcard. She defeated Natalia Vikhlyantseva in straight sets to win her first-round match.

Additionally, she also got a wildcard into the main draw of the 2021 Miami Open, where she lost in straight sets to Sorana Cirstea.

She immigrated to the United States at 17 so that her mother could receive treatment for breast cancer.

Scott’s parents met as students at Santa Monica College. Later, they moved to Cal State-Northridge in Los Angeles to raise their only daughter.

Nonetheless, Katrina, bilingual in English and Farsi, later relocated to Columbus, Ohio, to train with coach David Kass at the Kass Tennis Academy.

As Katrina performed well in 14-and-under contests, her father, David Scott, emphasized that Katrina’s tennis journey became more challenging.

A qualifying match in San Jose recognized Katrina’s commitment to tennis. She competed against top-tier opponents.

Despite having her family residence in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, Katrina relocated to Columbus, Ohio, to train under coach David Kass at the Kass Academy.

As per sources, Katrina currently lives with her mother, while her father at times comes to visit his family.
