In March 2020, Martin Jr. declared to enter the 2020 NBA Draft. Back then, the Sacramento Kings drafted him the 52nd overall in the second round.
However, only after a week, the Kings traded him to the Houston Rockets in exchange for cash considerations and a future second-round pick.
