The San Francisco Giants pitcher Kyle Harrison credits his remarkable achievements to his parents, Miles and Wanda’s athletic background.

Both of his parents, who were standout college field hockey players at San Jose State University, inspired him never to give up and keep going.

Moreover, his baseball roots run deep down as his maternal grandfather, Skipp Guinn, was a former MLB pitcher for the Braves and Astros.

Within his upbringing, the Kyle Harrison family circle fostered a supportive environment and shared similar goals.

Making his MLB debut with the Giants, Harrison made his parents proud of his achievement.

His dad mentioned that the whole family was at Citizens Park’s stadium to encourage him at the highest levels.

Kyle Christopher Harrison is a professional baseball pitcher currently playing for the San Francisco Giants in Major League Baseball (MLB).

During his teenage years, the pitcher was a part of the Tri-Valley All-Stars, a team that secured victory in the Babe Ruth 13-year-old World Series back in 2015.

Expanding on the earlier experiences, four years later, in 2019, he emerged as a standout player in the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup, representing the gold-medal-winning Team USA.

Due to his exceptional performance, the San Francisco Giants picked him in the third round of the 2020 Major League Baseball draft.

Later, Kyle began playing professionally for the Low-A San Jose Giants in the California League in 2021.

Marking a significant milestone in his flourishing baseball career, Harrison debuted in the major leagues, stepping onto the field for the first time against the Philadelphia Phillies on August 22, 2023.

Kyle Harrison Parents’ Miles And Wanda: The Sports Background

Kyle Christopher Harrison was born on August 12, 2001, to parents who were quite familiar with the realm of sports.

His parents, Chirs Harrison and Kim Harrison, used to play field hockey at San Jose State University.

Their passion and love for sports definitely helped Kyle to achieve his success in the baseball world.

His athletes’ parents raised him in California, where he grew up playing games like soccer, football, and baseball.

Recognizing his abilities at an early age, his parents encouraged him to test his limits, which has helped him achieve today’s success.

His father also revealed that he was wise beyond his years. He was very careful not to overthrow him when he was younger.

On the other hand, Harrison’s maternal grandfather, Sam Guinn, was a left-handed major league pitcher who played for the Altana Braves and Houston Astros. His grandfather said,

“He’s a darn good athlete. Last time I saw him throw, he was keeping it down and away from hitters. He’s the type of kid that you tell him something — not even showing him, but telling him — once, and he gets it. His control down is something else. He’s got a good head on his shoulders. He’s got a love for the game, and that’s important.”

Kyle Harrison always credits his family with helping him reach where he is today. Even after his MLB debut, he said,

“I think just kind of instilling that competitive nature in me from the start has really helped me, and just the constant support around each other, you know. It’s just a really cool family and I’m very very very grateful.”

Kyle Harrison’s Sibling

The California native Kyle Harrison also has a younger brother, Connor “Bear” Harrison. He always looked up to his older brother as his inspiration.

Following him as a standout star at De La Salle on May 2023, the younger Harrison earned the North Coast Section Baseball Player of the Year title, hitting .419 with 6 doubles, 2 triples, and 2 home runs.
